Dr. Fisher graduated with a degree in medicine from McMaster University
in Hamilton, Ontario in 1976. While maintaining her family practice
she has also managed the emergency/trauma unit at Sunnybrook Health
Sciences Centre and has acted as a staff physician at University
of Toronto Health Services and at the Baycrest Center for Geriatric
Care. She is particularly well known for her expertise in the prevention
and management of headaches, womens health, nutrition and
fitness, and skin care problems. She is frequently sought after
to lecture on these and other medical topics at local and international
meetings.
To augment her skills in migraine management Dr Fisher attained
consultant status in the American Society for Clinical Hypnosis.
Her attention to detail, enjoyment of patient contact and keen interest
in research led to involvement as an investigator in numerous clinical
drug trials. For many years she was an active member of the Continuing
Education Committee of the Department of Family and Community Medicine,
Mount Sinai Hospital, where she has held a staff position for more
than 25 years. In addition to her more recent completion of courses
in palliative care, Dr. Fisher currently serves as physician liaison
on the Patient Education Advisory Committee for Princess Margaret
Hospital. Additionally, she is an examiner for the Licensing Board
of the Medical Council of Canada.
Dr. Fishers commitment to provide complete and uncompromising
patient care motivated her to respond to an ever increasing demand
from survivors of cancer, adolescents and menopausal clients
for management of related skin problems. This stimulated her quest
for additional information and practical instruction in the areas
of skin care treatments and enhancements. Dr. Fisher has trained
with, and been certified by, leading experts in the field of Botox
injection, dermal fillers, and chemical peels. She is now considered
to be one of the top physicians in her field.
