Dermal Fillers (Restylane/Perlane and Juvederm) FAQ

How do Restylane, Restylane Fine Lines, Perlane, and Juvederm work?

These products are all based on a hyaluronic acid gel that is injected into the skin in order to fill in wrinkles or add volume to lips and other tissues.

What is hyaluronic acid?

Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance that is found throughout the body. For example, it adds volume to the skin, lubricates the joints, and gives the eye its shape.

How do Restylane/Perlane and Juvederm differ from other dermal fillers?

Restylane/Perlane and Juvederm are non-animal forms of hyaluronic acid. These products have many advantages over similar products used for dermal enhancement. No sensitivity testing is required prior to administration and no allergic reactions have been reported. Additionally, the results of these treatments last much longer than many of the alternatives.
